Walking further into the City of Tolerance, or the Three Cultures, we will visit a monument characteristic of each of these cultures and discover the impact each has left on Toledo.  

Without a doubt, the Jewish Quarter of Toledo was the most influential in medieval times and today still holds an important place in Sephardic culture on the Iberian Peninsula.  The tour includes a thorough explanation about the history, life and importance of the Hebraic community in medieval Spain.

After receiving his artistic training in his native Crete and spending brief periods in Venice and Rome, one of the greatest painters in the history of art arrived in Toledo in 1577. It was here where he developed his distinctive style and created most of his paintings. A tour through the monuments where his works can still be admired offers a deeper understanding of such a modern way of expressing himself through the brush—one that, even today, continues to inspire and influence contemporary painting.

Toledo´s moment of glory came with the arrival of Carlos V. He granted it the title of Imperial City and ordered its transformation based on Renaissance models from the mid-16th century.
